I want to take some time to talk about helping people that have a very serious disease. The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk is a national event that is held every year in communities across the country. It is the largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. The Memory Walk has raised more than $225 million since 1989. This event calls on volunteers of all ages to help in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
Alzheimer’s is a serious disease and very common. More than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s. The first symptoms many people notice are forgetfulness bad enough to affect their work, hobbies and social life.
As the disease gets worse, other symptoms like confusion, trouble with organizing and expressing thoughts, misplacing things, getting lost in familiar places, and changes in personality and behavior begin to appear
Right now there is no cure the Alzheimer’s, but treatment for symptoms along with the right services and support, can make life better for the people living with Alzheimer’s.
The Alzheimer's Association is trying to help end Alzheimer's and help people that have the disease with it’s Memory Walk a fundraising event. You can help also. Team captains for the walk are needed now to start a team in your area. As a team captain you be given your very on website that you can use as your fundraising headquarters.
It is very important that team captains signup early so you’ll have enough time to recruit a team and raise funds for the cause. I’m going to check to see where the Memory Walk is in my area. How about you?
