If you have written articles for sites like Helium and Associated Content, you can direct the traffic from your blog to those articles and make more money from them. Associated Content not only buys you a flat fee for the articles you write, but you also get an ongoing payment for the traffic your articles get. Helium pays strictly on the amount of traffic to your articles.
You can write post on your blog that leads traffic to your articles or put links in the sidebar that leads to your articles, which I have done or you can do both. Using your blog to make money from your blog is good because you are bound to have more readers for your blog than your articles since you post to your blog regularly and therefore have something for people to keep coming back for, where as your articles are stand alone posts.
Leading people to your articles to make money is another way to make money using your blog.
