Uptown Saturday Night Rave

There is a great event that happens on the last Saturdays of every month in the country’s oldest city, St. Augustine, Florida. The event is called Uptown Saturday Night and on those last Saturdays of the month, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the antique district of San Marco Avenue comes to alive with music and shopping opportunities for antiques, rare books, authentic Spanish treasure and art.

You can also find additional activity on Aviles Street, the oldest street in America. During the Uptown Saturday Night events, you will be able to meet artists, attend book signings and readings, attend workshops on antique related topics and lots more. Participating shop will have open house and offer wine and refreshments. The event is free and there’s free parking at The Mission of Nombre de Dios.

As an artist myself this event has an appeal to me because of the chance to talk with other artists and see their works. I always get ideas and inspiration from seeing other artists’ works. Besides the event itself, being the oldest city in the country, St. Augustine has to be rich with history.

The next Uptown Saturday Night events will take place October 27th and November 24th. If you have a chance, don’t miss these St. Augustine events.
